My Current Skin Care Routine (Day & Night)
Everyone should have a skincare routine by now, whether it be a 3, 7, or 10-step process. In this article, I will be going over my skincare routine day & night.
Day Time
- The first thing I do when I wake up is washing my face with lukewarm water. I don't use a cleanser in the morning because I have dry to normal sensitive skin type but I do use one at nighttime.
- After washing my face, I put on my toner (the product will be linked at the end of the page) while my face is still damp. I do this to add more hydration to my skin and to lock that moisture in.
- After toner, I would apply a serum. This depends on my mood/preference on that day and what my skin needs. I switch between using niacinamide and vitamin C serum.
- After serum, I would apply moisturizer. This can be my basic cream moisturizer (mainly during the winter) or my vitamin E mask that pairs well with my vitamin C serum.
- After moisturizer, I would then apply my sunscreen. My favorite sunscreen is linked here
Night Time
- If I wore makeup that day, I would first go in with my balm cleanser to get rid of my makeup. I don't use makeup wipes unless absolutely necessary. Makeup wipes make my skin irritated and dry.
- Follow my cleanser balm, I would double cleanse. Recently, I have been using a foam cleanser than my usual CeraVe and it has done my skin justice. If you haven't tried using a foam cleanser, I highly recommend it.
- After cleansing, I would exfoliate my skin for all the impurities. I exfoliate usually once a week as my skin is sensitive.
- After exfoliating, I would go with my toner. Same technique and application as the morning.
- My serum changes during the nighttime. I would go with my retinol serum.
- After serum, I would moisturize my face before bed using my cream moisturizer or a face mask.
- Extra step that I take is putting on my eye gel.
